Sexual harassment and Islamic teachings, a special study of Pakistani society

Abstract

Peace and order play a pivotal role in the sustainable development of any society. In a society where honor, life and property are not protected, social development stops and individuals lose confidence in the state. Society becomes like a jungle where every tyrant and oppressor is seen free and citizens trapped. Pakistan is an Islamic republic in which efforts have been made to formulate the Constitution of Pakistan in the light of Islamic laws. Under which the dignity of the people, the responsibility of life and property has also been ensured. Sexual harassment is a very ugly act that has a very negative effect on the peace and order of the society. Sexual harassment provides the basis for the incidence of rape in society, which is an even greater scourge for society. Millions of cases of sexual harassment occur annually in Pakistan. Which later prove to be a precursor to rape. This creates fear, anxiety and insecurity in the society. And the wheel of social progress stops. The tragedy is that these incidents seem to be on the rise instead of declining. In this article we have tried to find the elements that actually cause incidents of sexual harassment in the society. And efforts have been made to find a possible solution to eliminate sexual harassment from society which will ensure lasting social peace and order.
