Research Study of Family Rituals with Non-Muslim Relatives in the Light of Islamic Jurisprudence
Abstract
Islam is a universal religion. Islam, being a religion of nature, has taken into account every aspect of life in its teachings. The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) mentioned the creatures of Allah in the words of the family of Allah and through these words conveyed the message to the people of his ummah that the place and status of the creatures is with Allah. In terms of human relationships, all nations are part of humanity. As a complete way of life, Islam is expanding. Within the Islamic code of conduct, family ceremonies include guidance for Muslims as well as non-Muslim relatives. Islam is the source and preacher of peace and security. In Islamic jurisprudence, there are some limitations and restrictions regarding rituals with non-Muslim relatives. Islam not only allows them but also encourages them not to contradict and oppose religious sympathy. However, there are issues that can be apprehensive and discouraging because of which Islamic pride and sympathy are affected. In Islamic jurisprudence, this great and fundamental principle has been stated that in dealing with non-Muslim relatives, the principle is to treat them kindly and do not touch them in doing good and benevolence until there is a practical demonstration of open hostility and breach of covenant by them. In this article, family rituals with non-Muslim relatives in the light of Islamic jurisprudence .
