Abstract

The military campaigns of the early Islamic period, known as the Ghazawat and Seraya, played a significant role in the spread of Islam and the consolidation of Muslim power in Arabia. These expeditions and raids were led by the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ and his companions, and involved both defensive and offensive operations. This research article examines the military organization during the time of the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ, specifically in the context of the Ghazawat and Seraya, which were military expeditions and raids respectively. The article explores the tactics and strategies employed by the Muslim army, including the role of commanders and soldiers. It also investigates the social and political context in which these military campaigns took place, including the role of tribal alliances and the impact of the emergence of Islam on Arab society.
